Aytan Bellin is Counsel to the New York State Task Force on Life and
the Law and an employee of Health Research, Inc. The Task Force is an interdisciplinary
commission appointed by the New York State Governor to make legal and public
policy recommendations on issues arising from medical advances.
Mr. Bellin is a member of the Bioethical Issues Committee of the Association
of the Bar of the City of New York. Before joining the Task Force staff,
Mr. Bellin worked in private practice, as an assistant district attorney
in the trial and appeals divisions of the Manhattan District Attorney’s
Office, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth Conboy in the United
States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Bellin
received his law degree from the Columbia University School of Law, where
he served as an editor of the Columbia Law Review. He graduated from Yale
University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
