Stroke Stroke Rehabilitation

Depression can affect rehab after stroke

A stroke can affect many areas of a person's life. There may be problems with movement, speech or performance of simple tasks like tying your shoes. Losing those abilities and having to relearn skills is physically and emotionally demanding. That's why depression may strike people recovering from stroke. Dealing with that depression may require counseling or even the use of antidepressants.
